Closet Tour: Trying on ALL my outerwear

Closet Tour: Trying on ALL my outerwear - Lizzy Helena Brown

I love clothes. A lot. And since the weather has started to cool down where I live now (New Mexico as of last month), I've been eager to break out my jackets and coats. Here's the script of the coat section of my video if you prefer to read rather than listen.

Valentino butterfly trench

This Valentino trench coat I received as a gift from my dad is covered with hand-embroidered butterflies. It’s not just a coat, but an art piece as well.

Burberry Puffer

My sister and I have these twinning Burberry reversible puffers. It’s filled with down, so it keeps me cozy on the iciest, darkest January days.

Versace Collection Puffer

This soft grey bomber jacket is perfect for casual looks on days when it’s dry and not too cold.

Abaya Coat

This abaya coat is a fully-lined wool-blend tweed accented with sparkly silver thread that glimmers subtly in the light. I bought it in a size up so it would fit comfortably over my bulkier sweaters.

BCBG

This shocking coral quilted coat is utter perfection. It’s covered in pockets, and features a hidden hood that zips into the back of the collar. Very functional. I got it at Nordstrom Rack probably 8 years ago, and it’s remained a favorite of mine.

Pendleton

This dusk lavender Pendelton coat is made from 100% Merino wool. It’s cut so beautifully that it could be worn as a shirt. I wear a lot of purple because it’s my favorite color, and I love how carefully the buttons were color-matched to the wool.

Banana Republic

This bright raspberry Banana Republic faux fur bomber jacket was a Christmas gift from my brother in 2019. It’s an eye-catching statement piece that I find difficult to pull off, but when the occasion calls for it, it brings the whole look together. The faux fur is irresistibly silky soft.

Zara

This Zara faux leather shearling aviator jacket elevates any of my casual cold weather looks. It’s classic, but a little bit edgy too. My husband picked it out for me a while ago–it’s not something I would’ve gotten for myself at the time, but it fits perfectly in my wardrobe and I reach for it constantly in the fall and winter.

Vintage Coat from Mummi

This prince of wales-patterned car coat features feminine pleats and ¾ sleeves perfect for showing off bracelets. It was my Mummi’s before she passed away–she had great taste.

Kuhl

This 100% wool kuhl jacket has thumholes and contrast stitching. It’s one of my lighter jackets, so it’s good for the current October weather. The rich maroon color reminds me of fall forest foliage, the prettiest part of the season.

North Face Indigo

This North Face hoodie is an electric indigo fleece with fuschia contrast detailing. I love to wear it in the morning on a walk when the air is nice and crisp, with a pair of bouncy sneakers.

North Face Yellow

This North Face hoodie is the exact color of baby ducklings. I love the ruffle on the front pockets–it’s always nice when sporty or outdoor clothing has some feminine detailing.

ROXY

This neon guava-colored fleece jacket from ROXY is super cozy. I wear it all the time with matching sneakers I have in the same shade of pink!

HELLY HANSEN

This helly hansen jacket features a contrasted grey knit lower portion with a waterproof nylon pink top portion and hood.

Bebe

This Bebe track jacket is perfect for going to and from the gym during all seasons. I love how long it is, and the material has a nice stretch to it.

Arc’teryx Hyllus

This storm purple Arc’teryx jacket is lined with vibrant orange fleece. The softshell material is waterproof, yet breathable and elastic. I’ve had this jacket for over 10 years, and it looks as good as the day I received it.

Arc’teryx Fortrez

This iceberg-colored Arc’teryx hoodie is made of polartec fleece, which is surprisingly warm for how thin it is. I often wear this as a midlayer when I ski. It has a hidden balaclava in the back of the hood, which you can pull over your face if you choose to.

Rab Blue

This RAB shell coat is waterproof, windproof, and has a hood big enough to fit over a ski helmet. I usually wear it over my blue arc’teryx hoodie for a full aqua look.

Mammut Alto

This lilac Mammut ski coat is fabulous. It always keeps me the warmest and the driest out on the slopes. I don’t reserve it just for ski days–I hate being cold, so I pull it out all the time during winter. The color really speaks to me.

Rab Berry Puffer

This berry-colored RAB puffer may be my most beloved winter coat, because it doesn’t look too sporty so it pairs naturally with more casual outfits. It’s waterproof, windproof, and has a huge hood that protects me from precipitation.
