Celebrating Black History Month: 6 Modest Fashion Pieces from Hanifa

It’s Black History Month, and I want to take this opportunity to celebrate and highlight some incredible modest fashion pieces from amazing Black-owned brands. When I first thought of creating this series, the first brand that came to mind was Hanifa, a label I’ve admired for years. Hanifa is a US-based fashion brand founded by the talented Congolese designer and CEO, Anifa Mvuemba. Her journey as a designer and entrepreneur is nothing short of inspiring. Anifa’s designs are deeply rooted in her Congolese identity, and she masterfully incorporates elements of Congolese fashion into her collections.

Beyond her creative work, Anifa is also deeply committed to giving back to her homeland. Through her brand, she actively supports charity work aimed at addressing the ongoing humanitarian crises in the Congo, making contributions to both fashion and social justice.
