Cacao Cardamom Elixir
This recipe combines cacao powder, organic ground cardamom, and coffee for a morning drink that makes me feel like superwoman! I had mine at 6 am this morning out on my balcony to celebrate the first below freezing temperatures of this autumn season.
Cacao powder is rich in flavanoids, antioxidants, magnesium, and potassium, while cardamom contains compounds that may help ward off cancer. Coffee is the main source of antioxidants in the American diet, and is linked to longevity along with a slew of other health benefits. So this drink is delicious as well as packed with nutrients!
Ingredients
1 tbsp cacao powder
1/4 tsp ground cardamom
1 tsp raw honey
6 oz coffee
Optional splash of milk
More cacao powder & cardamom to dust on top
Instructions
Step 1: Combine cacao powder, ground cardamom, raw honey, and about 2 oz coffee in a cup. Froth together until well combined.
Step 2: Incorporate the remaining coffee.
Step 3: Add the optional splash of milk.
Step 4: Dust with more cacao powder + cardamom and enjoy!
