Orange Cardamom Cappuccino - Lizzy Helena Brown

I came up with this recipe on a whim, not expecting it to be so delicious. This cappuccino is flavored with my orange cardamom syrup, a simple syrup with a just a few modifications. It's incredibly delicious, and this cappuccino would be the perfect treat after a long day skiing. It really reminds me of days spent holiday shopping at City Creek Mall in Salt Lake City for some reason. I hope you try it out! You can watch me make the drink in this TikTok video:

Syrup Ingredients

1 cup white sugar

1 cup water

Zest of 1 orange

1 tsp ground cardamom

1/2 tsp vanilla

1 pinch salt

Syrup Instructions

Step 1: Combine the sugar, water, scraped vanilla beans, whole bean and extract in a small saucepan over medium heat.

Step 2: Whisk constantly until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is bubbling.

Step 3: Reduce the heat to low and cook for 1 to 2 minutes.

Step 4: Let cool completely before storing in a jar. 

 

Cappuccino Ingredients

1 part espresso (I use 2.5 oz)

1 part milk

1 part milk foam

Orange cardamom syrup (I use about 2 teaspoons, but it's completely up to your discretion)

 

Cappuccino Instructions

Step 1: Stir together the orange cardamom syrup and espresso.

Step 2: Pour in the milk.

Step 3: Spoon milk foam over the top.

Step 4: Garnish with a bit of orange zest and sprinkle of ground cardamom.
